Applicator preparation
Mandatory training and certification: Only applicators who are certified and have completed dicamba or auxin-specific training may apply.
Application timing: Applications must occur between one hour after sunrise and two hours before sunset. (Do not spray during a temperature inversion.)
Record keeping: Records must be created, maintained, and made available to federal and state officials in accordance with any applicable federal and state record keeping requirements.
Sensitive crops: Do not apply when wind is blowing toward adjacent sensitive crops and plants.
Endangered species: Additional protection measures are required in specific counties where endangered species may exist. Visit EPA.gov/Pesticides/Bulletins or call 1-844-447-3813 for more information
Downwind buffer: Must maintain a 240-foot downwind buffer. (See label for buffer reduction options.)
Runoff/erosion mitigation: Calculate your Runoff/Erosion Mitigation points for your fields. A minimum of 3 points are required; 6 in a Pesticide Use Limitation Area.
Application equipment requirements
Stryax™ herbicide applications require proper equipment setup, spray system cleanout and application practices
Spray system equipment cleanout
Ensure the entire sprayer system is properly cleaned before and after application using a triple-rinse procedure.
Nozzles
Apply this product with nozzles calibrated to apply coarse or coarser droplets.
Spray Boom Height
Do not exceed a boom height of 24 inches above the target pest or crop canopy.
Ground Speed
Do not exceed 15 mph.
Tank mix and application requirements
Stryax™ herbicide must be applied according to label directions and application requirements, including timing, volatility reduction, spray volume and tank mix restrictions.
VaporGrip® Xtra agent requirement
A qualified volatility reduction agent must be included in the spray solution for every application. In addition, an approved drift reduction agent must be included in every application.
Maximum application rate and timing
A maximum of 1.0 lb acid equivalent of dicamba products may be applied annually to the field. Applications may be made only at labeled fluid-ounce rates per acre depending on crop timing and application window. Applicators must refer to StryaxApplicationRequirements.com and the product label for full rate, timing and crop-specific use directions.
Spray volume
Apply in a minimum of 15 gallons of spray solution per acre.
Tank mixing
Do not tank-mix with ammonium sulfate or ammonium-sulfate-containing products. Refer to all product labels to determine mix order or perform a mix compatibility test.
Temperature requirements
When the forecasted temperature is 85°F or higher and less than 95°F on the day of application or the day after application, do not treat more than 50% of dicamba-tolerant cotton and soybean acres managed by the grower within the county.
No applications are allowed when the forecasted maximum temperature for the day of application or the day after application is 95°F or above.
Downwind requirements
Applicators must evaluate nearby fields and sensitive areas before spraying. Do not spray when wind is blowing toward adjacent sensitive crops and/or plants as defined on the product label.
After determining that no adjacent sensitive crops and/or plants are downwind, applicators must maintain a downwind buffer. See the label for buffer composition and options for reducing the buffer distance.
Environmental conditions
Stryax™ herbicide applications must follow environmental condition requirements for wind speed, inversions and rainfall.
Wind speed
Apply when wind speed, measured at boom height, is 3–10 mph. Applications are prohibited if a dicamba-sensitive crop or plants are downwind.
Temperature inversions
Do not spray during a temperature inversion. Applications may only be made starting one hour after sunrise and ending two hours before sunset.
Rainfall
Do not spray when rainfall is expected within four hours of application or when rainfall that may exceed soil field capacity is forecast to occur within 48 hours.
Runoff and erosion mitigation
Applicators must calculate Runoff/Erosion Mitigation points for their fields. A minimum of three points are required, or six points in a Pesticide Use Limitation Area. Additional information is available at epa.gov/pesticides/mitigation-menu.
Endangered species requirements
Applicators must consult Endangered Species Protection Bulletins for Pesticide Use Limitation Area restrictions from EPA’s Bulletins Live. Bulletins should be obtained no more than six months before using these products. Additional information is available at epa.gov/pesticides/bulletins.
