Can Fungicides Help You do More than Fight Disease

From harsh environmental conditions to disease pressure, crops are often under stress during the growing season. In an attempt to defend against these challenging stressors, crops may waste valuable energy needed for yield production, which could negatively impact your ROI.

Since we can’t predict what this season will hold, it’s important to be proactive and set your wheat fields up for success. One way to do this is by controlling in-season diseases and giving your crops a boost in plant health. A visibly greener, healthier plant with more grain and/or pod fill means you have a better chance of hitting the desired number on your yield monitor.

When the right fungicide is applied, your crops could experience plant-health benefits such as:

  • Improved water-use efficiency, which can reduce the rate of water loss and leaf curling for better drought tolerance and nutrient delivery to aid pod and grain fill.
  • Protected photosynthetic efficiency, which maintains chlorophyll energy production to help pod and grain fill.
  • Prolonged greening, increases green leaf area to help prevent crops from dying down early and therefore reduces lodging and/or shattering.
  • Improved harvestability, which allows a faster and more fuel-efficient harvest, helps save time, fuel and ultimately, delivers more savings and potential ROI.

When it comes to protecting your wheat crop, we recommend the combined benefits of Trivapro® and Miravis Ace. Not only will the Adepidyn and SOLATENOL® technologies protect your crop from head scab, rusts and powdery mildews, but when used together Trivapro and Miravis Ace have shown plant-health benefits, increased test weight, and additional yield gains. Miravis Ace also offers greater application flexibility by allowing applications as early as 50% head emergence up to flowering.
